About Me

My photo
I'm Arthur, a Golden Retriever. I was rescued from the streets of Taiwan through the efforts of Golden Retriever Rescue and many kind volunteers in Taiwan. I understand Mandarin and English but cannot speak either. I have the innate ability to smell anything 'round' and I consider myself a real foodie as I'm willing to try just about anything edible. I was adopted by my human in 2009, my human ROCKS; together, we are on a special mission in rounding me into a stellar 'urban dog'! This blog is dedicated to my journey in urban development and the humans who make it possible.

Road To Gotham - We've Arrived!

I passed through the Lincoln tunnel like a new born through a birth-canal, unceremoniously foisted on the streets of midtown Manhattan. [Enter Dorothy and Toto]...'chaos, brightness, and road-signs OH MY'!

It suddenly occurred to me where I was; Midtown Manhattan, Friday night chaos! Even worse, what I was in, a ridiculous 4x4 red Jeep packed beyond it’s Manufacturer’s recommended payload and sporting BIG “ehh-HA” Texas plates! The was sensory overload beyond my windshield. There were vehicles everywhere, approaching from every direction; from one way streets, elevated streets, no way streets, WTF-Way streets! There were yellow cabs, black cabs, handsome cabs, bikes disguised as cabs. It was at this point I went from navigating the real road to the less threatening road on my GPS device. I was glued to it’s cartoonish purple road like my life depended on it...because IT DID! The 'virtual road' mounted to the dashboard was my only hope of finishing this journey.
