About Me

My photo
I'm Arthur, a Golden Retriever. I was rescued from the streets of Taiwan through the efforts of Golden Retriever Rescue and many kind volunteers in Taiwan. I understand Mandarin and English but cannot speak either. I have the innate ability to smell anything 'round' and I consider myself a real foodie as I'm willing to try just about anything edible. I was adopted by my human in 2009, my human ROCKS; together, we are on a special mission in rounding me into a stellar 'urban dog'! This blog is dedicated to my journey in urban development and the humans who make it possible.

Day 1, Winnemucca, NV

Why does decide on a hotel stay in Winnemucca, NV? Because they CAN and well it just fun to say!
Okay we’re off to a very slow start! Honestly, I’m apprehensive about qualifying today's road travel as an official 'travel day' at all considering we’ve only covered 367 miles! So I’ll define today’s travel uniquely; a test run a warm-up, orientation, a cross-country simulator, the training pants portion of our road-trip. To sum, a day to work out the kinks. I think we hit all the travel kinks right put of the gate. Started out with a late start, goodbyes are sad. There were two major accidents just outside Reno, ah yes ‘scenic Reno’! Then that wrong turn, (Arthur insisted). Speaking of Arthur, we’ve shared some long trips together just the two of us, LA to SF multiple times, a good 5 hour drive. I've never experienced as many doggie-stops as we did today. Perhaps anxiety about a new big city? As the sun started to set (beautiful by the way) along the open desert sky, a furry of strong winds, and some serious rain storms soon followed! I decided to stop, I had a few destination choices; Winnemucca just made sense!
So tomorrow, make up the 200 plus lost from today....

  1. I want your life Arthur - half way there Deb - it's a long haul - we're watching you get further and further away from Maui....drive safe - Rolando says to stop at Mochies outside of Philadelphia off the main Hwy - as close as you can get to a Philly sandwich - (as seen on the Food channel - FYI James thinks it's in Texas - so there is some dispute and you may have to back track :) kidding) xoxo Maui Folk
